Girl UPdate on COVID-19

In light of the first cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Uganda, Girl Up Initiative Uganda closed its Kampala office on March 24th and our team is working remotely until April 20th, or later if needed. All schools have been closed,  an all our program activities have been suspended until further notice. We have also made the difficult decision to postpone our Big Sister Camp that was originally planned for May 11-14.

In the meantime, we are working with our partners to best support the health, well being, and safety of our girls, youth, and communities during this challenging time.

We continue to operate with optimism that this pandemic will be over soon, and act as a learning moment for us to come together as a global community. We are sending prayers, blessings, and love to you all! We can get through this stronger together.

Our Mission

Girl Up Initiative Uganda aims to build a vibrant movement of girls through transformative leadership, sexual and reproductive health education, and skills development.
